Our planet is changing largely due to human activities which impacts on the whole world. Some of the causes are climate change, global warming and more.
Everyday, thousands of people use cars, air planes and electricity which makes Carbon Dioxide (CO2). If we don't switch of the lights or TV it uses a lot of electricity which comes from power station. Power stations make a lot of Carbon Dioxide. This is called climate change and there is so much CO2 in the air that it is covering us like a huge blanket which causes disaster such as droughts. We can make less use of cars and instead cycle to places or use the bus.
Recycle, Reuse and Reduce is another way you can help our planet, one and only world. Recycling is the process of manufacturing or making new things from a product that has originally served it's purpose. Items such as plastic, aluminium and certain types of paper can be separated from normal trash and can be put in a recycling, in some countries each house has a recycling bin where recyclable things can be put in. Reuse is very different from recycling.
Instead of carefully discarding items that can be recycled to make new
products, reuse involves using the items in another way, when their primary use
is finished. This reuse extends the life cycle of an item,
which may eventually be discarded, but in the meantime, is useful and remains
in circulation instead of gracing the top of a garbage pile in a landfill. Many items found around the
home can be used for different purposes. So before you throw those items away,
think about how they can be reused.
Reducing is the first and
most effective of the three Recycle, Reuse and Reduce. It means reducing your
consumption or buying less. Designing items like plastic bottles in ways that
use less material is another way to reduce consumption. Using steel cutlery
instead of plastic utensils, buying used goods, mending clothes instead of
buying new ones and consuming less electricity are all examples of ways you can
reduce in your own life.
